Digging Deeper: Developing an Arts and Crafts Garden

Digging Deeper: Developing an Arts and Crafts Garden

Sat, Aug 27, 2022
3:00 PM- 5:00 PM

An Arts & Crafts-style home built in 1879 is the inspiration for Jeanne Farewell's garden, which will be explored with reference to William Morris designs and the artistic origins of the movement. The garden integrates both formal and naturalistic elements, implementing Arts & Crafts hallmarks such as pergolas, garden rooms, and stone walls. Concept, color, scale, and plant selection will be considered, with an emphasis as well on site considerations and fitting the garden to the contours of the land.
