10:00 AM-12:00 PM
The successful blending of color, shape, texture, and form is essential for creating a conifer garden. The grouping of dwarf, slow-growing, intermediate, and fast-growing conifers and developing a sense of how to place them in relationship to one another other is essential for optimal effects. Knowing the growth habits of individual conifers is important for the proper spacing of plants, but with the understanding that it is not such a terrible thing if in time the plants grow into one another! Make sure you provide for irrigation of a new garden, as dwarf plants are particularly sensitive to drying out before becoming established. Utilize dwarf or unusual grafted conifers in landscapes for color, texture, and form.
