Highgarden/High Contente is also hosting a Digging Deeper on Saturday, July 20: The Garden, The Carpet, and the Plant Species of the Middle East

The house was built in 1883 by Henry Lee Higginson, founder of the Boston Symphony. The design and restoration of the house interiors and garden is being completed by today's owner/Architectural Designer, Paul Stremple.  The original garden, designed by Fletcher Steele between 1931-1937, is a hilltop garden with ocean views, sculpture, and reflecting pool.

The garden was expanded by Catherine Hull (1967-2005) and now, by the Artist/Designer, Paul Stremple (2015-Present).  The current owners are in process for an application for the National Registry of Historic Places for the estate.

Garden Extra: The garden owner, Paul Stremple, will offer a guided tour of the garden's history from its inception to present at 1:30 p.m.

This garden’s estimated size is 1 acre.
