Church House-The Garden of Page Dickey and Bosco Schell

Falls Village, CT
Fruit/vegetables, Meadow, Organic/toxin-free, Scenic view, Substantial native plants, Water feature

The garden here is smaller and simpler than the one we had at Duck Hill, but with a few echoes: a patterned cutting garden, a small greenhouse, a young orchard. Mixed borders of flowers run along the front of the house beneath three shadblows. A summer garden of hydrangeas, burnets, and roses surrounds our saltwater pool. Mowed paths strike off through meadows that surround the house, leading to trails in our woods, on the west side high and rocky with limestone outcroppings, on the east side, low, damp, and fern-filled. Best of all, perhaps, is the view beyond the garden, fields, and forest of the Berkshire hills.

This garden's estimated size is 17 acres.
