2026 Garden Futures Grants

The deadline for submission for the 2026 Garden Futures Grants closed on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The Garden Conservancy and its 2026 Grant Program Advisory Committee are currently in the process of reviewing all submitted applications. 2026 Grant recipients will be announced in the late fall on the Garden Conservancy website.

About the Grants

These grants celebrate and highlight the work of innovative and diverse gardening practices throughout the United States. For the 2026 cycle, funding was open to nonprofit organizations and small public gardens across the United States that are:

Making a significant impact in their communities through garden-based programming, with a focus on the environment and diverse populations; or contributing to the study and preservation of garden history.

Grant Considerations

Grants are for general operating support and typically range from $2,500 to $10,000. For this cycle, priority was given to organizations with an annual operating budget of $1 million or less. To be considered, applicants were required to be a 501(c)(3) organization or apply through a qualified fiscal sponsor. All final grant decisions are being made with the assistance of our Grant Program Advisory Committee.

Special Named Grants

We feature two special named grants as part of our Garden Futures Grants program. These named grants could not be applied for directly; recipients are being selected from the general application pool:

The Page Dickey Grant for American Gardens: An endowed grant of $10,000, awarded each year to a distinguished small public garden.

The Nibbled Leaf Grant for Ecological Gardening: Named after the Garden Conservancy's nature-friendly gardening initiative, this grant is awarded to an organization taking bold steps to support ecosystems and biodiversity while educating others to do the same.
