Windhorse
Elizabeth, CO
About
Windhorse garden began in 1999 and has had its ups and downs through years of extreme temperature fluctuations, wildlife and insect invasions, wind, hail, and drought since that time. A collection of natives as well as plants from geographically comparable areas make up the shrub, grass, and perennial garden, which flows into the prairiescape beyond. Collections of hardy cactus, dwarf conifers, and shrub roses are included. Only plants which prove they can succeed in harsh conditions are included in this garden, which serves as a green oasis on the plains.
This garden’s estimated size is 1/2 acre.
