About

At first glance, the suburban home nestled on a quiet street appears typical. The front yard is neat and conventional, with well- trimmed grass, a few modest flower beds, and a paved driveway leading to a gate to the backyard. It blends seamlessly with the neighboring houses, offering no hint of the oasis in the backyard.

When the visitor steps through to the backyard, they’re met with a breathtaking surprise—a garden that transports them into a world of tranquility and natural beauty. The transition from the standard suburban landscape of the front yard to the enchanting garden in the back is dramatic. Guests often pause in awe, caught off guard by the stark contrast. Where they expected a simple patio or lawn, they found themselves immersed in a lush sanctuary, meticulously designed to soothe the senses and evoke wonder.

This stunning backyard garden is an ever-changing display of color, sound and fragrance. Numerous garden paths meander through vibrant beds of seasonal flowers—roses, hydrangeas, and daisies— over 200 different perennials and shrubs that bloom in bursts of color. Mature ornamental trees offer dappled shade, including Beech, Golden Chain, Fringe and Sequoia, along with a few flowering fruit trees. All new water features provide a soothing soundtrack: a large pond reflects the sky, its surface dotted with water lilies, while a separate nearby stream adds a calming trickle.

Decorative benches and cozy nooks are tucked among the greenery, perfect for quiet contemplation or intimate conversation. For previous visitors to this suburban home, the journey through this year’s garden will be as if seeing the garden for the first time. The added water features along with relocated pathways, coupled with additional seating nooks have created a new visit that offers beauty, and an invitation to relax, reflect, and be inspired by nature’s artistry.

This garden’s estimated size is 1 acre.
