Tranquil Garden

About

A nature lovers’ sanctuary to ease the mind and to strengthen the body throughout the seasons. When we bought the property in 2018, we removed invasive species and overgrown growth.

With arborist chips and an array of plants, we created an aesthetically pleasing and eco-friendly yard with mulched pathways lined with rocks winding up and around the property.

From the front, a garden replaced lawn, going up to a shaded area and then behind the house’s sunny sloped rock garden and stone walls terraced into multiple levels, and further up a hill to a vegetable garden and more garden areas. In March 2025 deer fencing was expanded.

A diversity of species, over 100 varieties of trees and shrubs and over 200 different herbaceous perennials, includes fruiting trees and shrubs, culinary and medicinal herbs, and native plants. Ceramic totems and sculpture created by Rose offer artistic and whimsical interest amongst the mosaic-like garden layout.
