About
This Open Day is presented in partnership with Neighborhood Gardens Trust.
Please note: This ticket includes admission to both The Water Garden and Fitzwater 2000.
The Water Garden:
Founded in 1996, the Water Garden is a food producing, communal garden and green space that features native plants, innovative growing techniques and highlights how much can be done in a small space. The garden is tended by immediate neighbors and works closely with local children to build environmental and horticultural skills through hands on gardening experience.
Fitzwater 2000:
Nestled in the southwest part of Center City, Fitzwater 2000 Community Garden is an island of greenery in a sea of tar and cement. An exuberant postage-sized garden framed with an elegant black metal fence, filled with many native plants, a gathering/sitting area, a butterfly garden, bird baths, and several individual plots. There is something for everyone: people, birds, insects and plants.
