About

I am a mad passionate gardener and have been gardening most of my adult life. I love flowers and color. I combine

perennials, flowering shrubs and small trees in beds around the property. I reserve annuals primarily for 25 antique planters I have travelled with to each of my homes.

I lived in East Hampton and gardened on a tertiary dune at the ocean for 30 years. Then I moved to Bridgehampton a few of my favorite "babies" traveled along with me. Our new property is 2 acres and was designed by the prior owner using extraordinary trees, all flowering varieties in the front of the property, including Yoshino Cherries at the front split rail fence and a crabapple collection, magestic Blue Atlas Cedars and the most beautiful old weeping cherry which is tall and wide enough to be seen in the front, side and back of the property. There are giant Cryptomeria planted in threes all around the property, a collection of Japanese Maples including a lime green Full Moon Maple which thrives across from a mature tri color Beech. On the front lawn is an old Wisteria Tree which I have owned for 35 years it was old when purchased in full flower and has lovely lavender racemes.

I cleared a large area to allow for a sunny garden. It houses, hollyhocks and hydrangeas in multiple colors. Many heavily scented rose varieties living next to blue hardy geraniums, a huge and rare collection of day lilies, buddlea in deep crimson and small leafy trees including Japanese Maples crepe myrtles, hydrangea Tardiva, smoke bushes in red and a lime green. I look to include beautiful colorful leaves whenever possible including the burgundy spears of the pineapple lilies and irises of all sorts and colors. All of this and more. Mature Honey Locusts, gingko, and an amazing Mimosa grace the rear garden which is always changing, when one selection completes its cycle another takes its place. The gardens are like a necklace of gems. each very different from one another. I talk to my plants and give them love.
