The Garden Conservancy Preservation Partner Garden

About

We are Chrissie and John D’Esopo of Avon, CT. Our gardens consist of rare and unusual conifers and ornamentals from around the world.

The colors, textures, and variety are breathtaking. We have huge cascading extravagant annuals , in every color of the rainbow, situated on tall pedestals throughout the entire yard. Our gardens are a magical wonderland which attract thousands of visitors every summer.

We have designed, planted, and cared for every tree, shrub, and flower in our landscape with no outside help. We are constantly pruning the trees into topiaries with really wild personalities. Our gardens are one of a kind and are well worth the visit!

Our 1810 historical home will also be open for touring and it is full of beautiful antique collections and eclectic artwork. We restored the house ourselves after it was condemned and destined for the wrecking ball forty years ago. Our gorgeous home is a real compliment to our stunning botanical display. Please visit and enjoy both!

This garden's estimated size is 3 acres.

This Garden Host reports the following Terrain Notes about the garden: The backyard has a steep hill and a lovely view up top. Please wear sneakers. Otherwise, it is easy to get around.
