Stone Blossom Garden

North Haven, CT

The Garden Conservancy Preservation Partner Garden

About

Extending out from the loggia of a prominent 1930s Tudor house, this four- year-old garden blends formal structure with exuberant, naturalistic planting.

Gravel paths travel through a series of bluestone raised beds, each bursting with native pollinator favorites that mingle freely with roses, herbs, and a joyful collection of dahlias.

Along the garden’s length, rows of espaliered apple trees on one side and pear trees on the other form living walls that frame the beds with symmetry and grace. Designed as both sanctuary and laboratory, it is a place where bees, butterflies, and birds work and play, and each season teaches something new about color, resilience, and interdependence.

A classical statue watches over the beds with quiet strength, anchoring a space that feels at once cultivated and wild: an invitation to wander, connect, and exhale.

This garden's estimated size is 1.8 acres.
