About
Our small urban garden has been an ongoing process for several years. Eclectic in its content, hostas, abutilons and camellias are mainstays. So much of the “landscape” is in containers, pots left over from real estate plant staging.
A friend recently emailed me after a Camellias Gathering in the garden here: “There’s something about your garden that makes you feel a million miles from the rest of the world.” Indeed, our garden feels like a peaceful yet exciting retreat in the midst of suburbia. Comprised of several plant “rooms,” water features soothe the atmosphere in each. Seasonal color in containers is found throughout the garden, with a dominant feature of a huge apricot Brugsmansia and evergreen dogwood, Cornus caputata found in the chicken’s play area.
In the midst of botanical wonders is an array of seasonal veggies: lettuce, beans, tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, kale, chard, and other culinary delights
This Garden Host reports the following Terrain Notes about the garden: Access to the back garden is along side the house.
