Noel Schulz's Garden
Waldwick, NJ
About
There’s something for everyone on this quarter-acre property, especially if you love rocks! Many were found on the property, some were donated by neighbors, and the remainder purchased to fill specific requirements (i.e.: bluestone for smooth paths, wall rocks, and rocks in the gardens for visual effect). Wherever feasible, the owner constructed the walls, paths, and naturalistic areas himself as part of his personal design that evolved over the last ten years. They form the backdrop for the color and texture of the plants and shrubs that comprise the garden “rooms”—rock gardens, woodland shade garden, wildflower garden, crevice garden with water features, and vegetable and fruit garden. Troughs and pots, filled with flowering annuals, line the patios and walkways. There are several seating areas throughout the property to sit and enjoy the sights.
This garden’s estimated size is 1/4 acre.
