About

Nestled in the rolling hills of Sunset Hills, MO, Fox Mountain Falls is more than a backyard retreat—it’s a living tribute to the power of ecological restoration and the beauty of native landscapes.

This hidden oasis invites visitors into a world where water, stone, and flora converge in harmony, creating a haven for both people and wildlife. At the heart of the property lies an 80,000-gallon recreational pond, fed by a spring-like source that emerges from the hillside and tumbles through a series of cascading waterfalls. The sound of flowing water echoes through the trees, offering a sense of peace and grounding that only nature can provide. Boardwalks and sun decks trace the pond’s edge, offering intimate access to its crystal-clear waters and panoramic views of the surrounding habitat.

But Fox Mountain Falls is more than scenic—it’s ecologically vibrant. Native plants and trees have been carefully selected to support local biodiversity, transforming the space into a thriving ecosystem. Fish glide beneath the surface, toads bask on sunlit rocks, and dragonflies flit through the air. Songbirds nest in t he canopy, while hawks circle overhead, drawn to the abundance of life below. The landscape is designed not just for beauty, but for balance. Gentle slopes and natural stone formations mimic the contours of Missouri’s wild creeks and bluffs, allowing water to flow naturally and sustainably. Every element—from the bluff-top jumping cliff to the shaded pond banks—has been shaped to reflect the rhythms of the land.

Fox Mountain Falls serves as a model for how private spaces can contribute to conservation. By prioritizing native species, natural water movement, and habitat creation, it demonstrates that ecological stewardship can be both practical and profoundly beautiful. It’s a place where visitors can reconnect with nature, reflect on its resilience, and be reminded of the quiet magic that exists just beyond the city’s edge.
