Discussing the development of the garden, including confronting the site’s unusually harsh conditions, its dominating setting and maximizing native plants. A garden designer and preservationist, Bill creates and maintains compelling landscapes. He has served as director of preservation for the Garden Conservancy and as a Trustee of the Saint-Gaudens Memorial and Hollister House Garden.
His book, Spirit of Place: The Making of a New England Garden (Timber Press May 2020), chronicles the making of his own Vermont garden. www. billnoblegardens.com Lindsay, a landscape gardener and plantswoman, has been making and maintaining beautiful gardens in the Monadnock region for over twenty years.
This Digging Deeper Host reports the following Terrain Notes about the garden: Much of the garden terrain is uneven. Especially in areas away from the house, paths are bumpy and often hilly. Walking the garden is moderately strenuous. One garden loop is approximately 1 mile long. Another is approximately .5 mile long.
