Culver’s Garden
Florence, MA
About
I spent over thirty years working for the Botanic Garden of Smith College as pruner/ propagator, gardener and chief gardener. My husband worked for the college grounds department.
Our garden includes some treasures that were started from seeds obtained through a global index seminum trade. There are tree peonies grown from seed, martagon lilies, two Stewartia species, Clethra barbinervis, Enkianthus perulatus, and other unusual plants.
We have raised beds, perennial borders, shade gardens and spring ephemerals. Hellebores, clematis, roses and peonies star in the spring as the 'Akebono' cherry tree blooms in the front yard, while late summer brings many and varied dahlias, true lilies, daylilies and fall perennials.
This garden's estimated size is ¼ acre.
This Garden Host reports the following Terrain Notes about the garden: The garden is fairly flat with easy walking.
