A Journey Through Form and Nature

East Haddam, CT

The Garden Conservancy Preservation Partner Garden

About

Step into a living tapestry of artistry and ecology, where design and nature meet in perfect harmony. Begin in the formal tree garden, an elegant showcase of structure and serenity.

The graceful dawn redwood stands as the center piece beside sculptural trees and shrubs, some kept in a niwaki style.

Together they create a serene introduction. From the geometry of the tree garden, paths unfold into ornamental borders rich with colors and textures, mixed with native perennials which offer a feast for pollinators. The hum of bees and flutter of butterflies accompany you as youwander through plantings that celebrate biodiversity and seasonal beauty.

The tour concludes with a tranquil walk into the native meadow and vegetable garden. Wildflowers and grasses sway in soft drifts blending with productive vegetable beds and fruit trees. This space reflects a commitment to a beautiful, abundant, and deeply connected landscape.

Come and experience the evolution from formal design to natural freedom. A journey that honors artistry, ecology, and the enduring joy of a living garden.

This garden’s estimated size is 4 acres.

This Garden Host reports the following Terrain Notes about the garden: There are some uneven stepping stones in the formal tree garden portion.
