Casa de las Ardillas

To enter Casa de las Ardillas, guests pass through a metal portal inserted into the existing hedge and emerge on the other side in a lush oasis facing the San Jacinto mountains. The garden experience creates a series of outdoor rooms using exuberant planting to frame and delineate each area. Garden views are framed by windows around the house for seamless continuity in every room. Pink muhly grasses, succulent accents, an olive grove, euphorbia, palo verdes - planting is layered and immersive. At the end of a linear pool, the reflection of a pink neon squirrel shimmers on the surface, blending with the desert sky.
