San Francisco Native Garden
San Francisco, CA
Organic/toxin-free, Substantial native plants
We replaced our San Francisco gardens 20 years ago, front and back, with virtually all California native plants (the trees being the principal exception). Our goals were to reduce or eliminate irrigation, and invite wildlife in.
Now, our garden has regular bird and insect visitors, and blooms or berries year-round. Everything in the garden is something you’d spot hiking in the Bay Area-we wanted it to match the local native flora as much as possible.
This garden’s estimated size is 1,200 sq. ft.
