Historic Sotterley
Hollywood, MD
A National Historic Landmark and a UNESCO Site of Memory for the Routes of Enslaved Peoples, Historic Sotterley is one of the oldest museums of its kind in the United States, with a history dating back to the turn of the eighteenth century.
Through the preservation of the site’s historic structures and natural environment and the use of powerful stories to educate and bring American history to life, the organization strives to foster a better understanding of our world today by providing a living link to America’s complex history and legacy of slavery.
One of Historic Sotterley’s most stunning features is a Colonial Revival Garden, which is maintained by our Garden Guild. The garden is approximately 1 acre and host to a wide variety of plants that flower throughout the warm months.
Complement your Open Day with a visit to this nearby public garden. The Garden Conservancy is not ticketing this garden. For more information about visiting, please visit their website.
