Experts in the Gardens! At High Glen Gardens in Frederick, Executive Director Peter Couchman and staff will offer free, hourly guided tours. At Surreybrooke in Middletown, staff members will lead informative discussions on the plantings as well as the history of the gardens, outbuildings, and the Civil War-era house. See additional details at each of the garden listings below.
- High Glen Gardens
High Glen Gardens is a young, sixty-four-acre private estate at the base of the Catoctin Mountains.
- Kremers Paradise
The back garden creates a very private setting centered on a dark-bottom, stone-wall-lined pool.
- Jim and Sharon Lillard Residence
Groves of hardwood trees provide a shady retreat for the owners. A meandering path serves as entrance into the garden.
- Meadow Brook Manor
Drive up the tree-lined driveway along thirty mature kousa dogwoods blooming in beds of vinca, burning bush, barberries, hosta, and holly.
- Winpenny Tell Garden
Welcome to our country retreat. Our garden imparts solace at the end of the day with a gentle brook, koi pond, and an ornamental grass/perennial backdrop providing seasonal color.
Surreybrooke's mission is to offer visitors an exciting time as they experience the extensive gardens and historical outbuildings.
