Digging Deeper: A Year-Round Vegetable Garden in Napa

Digging Deeper: A Year-Round Vegetable Garden in Napa

The Garden of Carolyn and Alex Mehran

10:30 AM-12:00 PM

A passion for gardening and, specifically, growing vegetables, has led to the creation of a sustainable year-round vegetable garden in the heart of Napa Valley. Garden Conservancy board member Carolyn Mehran sought the help of vegetable garden expert Anton Ginella to broaden her approach to growing vegetables so she could have a year-round harvest for healthy eating. Not only have they achieved that, but, in the process, they have learned much about what it takes to have a truly successful vegetable garden.

Anton has since moved back to the East Coast, but join Carolyn and her new vegetable gardener, taking over this year where Anton left off, to learn best practices for developing your vegetable garden or taking it to the next level. Learn about soil amendments, companion planting, layering plants for different seasons, seeds versus starts, favorite products, and irrigation.
