This event has been cancelled due to the National Weather Service's Excessive Heat Watch for Saturday afternoon. Peter Wooster's garden will still be open on this date from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Collectors are a special breed and their proclivity infiltrates every aspect of their lives. Peter Wooster is every inch a collector, and his love for "one of everything" became his signature style, combining rare plants with collected objects uniquely displayed. As a designer, he also found a way to make it work beautifully and uniquely—using the bed layout, perspective, vantage points, spontaneous moments, unique pairings, and color echoes.
Tovah Martin, author of The Garden in Every Sense and Season (and myriad other books and articles) and longtime friend of Peter Wooster will serve as your tour guide in the garden to translate the brilliance. Rob Girard, Peter’s gardener, will also be on hand to offer further insight while commenting on his input into the progression of the garden. And of course, the inimitable Peter will be available to show off the collages he creates as his means of expression. Collages will be for sale.
Advance registration is required and space is limited.
