Prospect Park is an iconic 19th-century public landscape gem in the heart of Brooklyn, providing 500+ acres of open space for contemplation, reflection, and recreation. The park, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux, is famous for its iconic structures and its dramatic landscape features and was created as part of the movement to preserve open space during rapid urban expansion in the mid-1800s. The space is a designated New York City scenic landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Join Jabari Taylor, assistant landscape architect for the Prospect Park Alliance, and Horatio Joyce, Director of Public Programs and Education at the Garden Conservancy, for a wonderful afternoon touring this remarkable landscape, discovering the history of its creation and learning of the efforts currently underway to preserve its unique character and important features.
