Trelowarth
Poulsbo, WA
Welcome to Trelowarth (meaning "Home and Garden" in Cornish). The shrub valley, dry garden, and terraces greet you as you walk through the garden gate of this five-year-old garden. Paniculata and oakleaf hydrangeas along with many fuchsias provide a colorful border. The view from the ridge shows the garden's wild side and Pinetum and then reveal the four terraces filled with pollinator-friendly mix of shrubs, perennials, and grasses. Enjoy Trelowarth from a distance, or walk the paths and steps for a closer look. Pass the large summer border and vegetable beds on your meander up to the house, then the white garden is peaceful with the sound of the rill water feature accompanying your walk. A large maple tree provides a shade canopy to the entrance garden which is a combination of typical dappled shade Northwest plantings. Take a moment and walk onto the front deck to soak in the view of Puget Sound and the Cascade Mountains. This two-acre garden benefits from the propagation and greenhouse support of many unique plantings able to thrive and survive in our ever-changing climatic conditions.
