Frog Song Farm

Point Arena, CA
Open Days, Edibles, Water feature, Plant Collection

Begun in 2000, this estate-style garden and farm focuses on a personal collection of plants that grow well in our maritime Mediterranean climate, including California natives, heathers, rhododendrons, and a wide variety of unusual Southern Hemisphere plants such as Protea, Leucadendron, Grevillea, and manuka. In addition, there is a large lily pond, a dwarf fruit orchard, four variously purposed greenhouses, chickens, rabbits, vegetables, perennials, and cutting gardens, and a children’s playhouse and maze built entirely from materials headed for the dump.

Directions: From the San Francisco Bay Area, take Highway 101 north to the East Washington Boulevard exit in Petaluma. Continue west through Petaluma to the junction with Highway 1 near Valley Ford. Continue straight ahead on Highway 1 north to Bodega Bay and on through Jenner, Fort Ross, Sea Ranch, and Gualala to Point Arena. Go to top of hill in Point Arena and turn right onto Riverside Drive/Eureka Hill Road. Go 2.7 miles. As the road flattens out at the top of the hill (before you get to Frog Song Farm), start looking for a yellow highway intersection sign on the right. The driveway is immediately after that sign. The address is 40811 Eureka Hill Road and is marked. Come in through the gates and bear right at the Bear to be directed to the parking areas. Call if you need additional directions: (707) 882-2626.

From Mendocino/Fort Bragg, take Highway 1 south about 45 miles (~1 hour). Enter Point Arena. Highway 1 makes a 90 degree right turn about 1 mile into town, immediately after which turn left onto Riverside Drive/Eureka Hill Road. Proceed as directed above.
