Anne & Doug Rossbach Garden
Rumson, NJ
The house, a former windmill and barn, looks out at five miles of salt marsh, a river, and the distant Manhattan skyline. The design of the landscape reflects this view to the north: islands of perennials, shrubs, and trees that are saltwater-tolerant and grouped naturalistically. Numerous publications have featured the gardens, starting with the January 1983 issue of House Beautiful. The property floods in storm tides.
