Ben Lenhardt on "Gardens of the North Shore of Chicago"

Ben Lenhardt, an avid gardener and preservationist, explores the rich tradition of gardening along the shore of Lake Michigan from Evanston to Lake Bluff, in his new book Gardens of the North Shore of Chicago (Monacelli Press, October 20, 2020). The 25 gardens are verdant retreats, lushly planted and meticulously maintained, and organized according to their design: classic, naturalistic, country, and experimental.

Held live on Zoom on October 22, 2020, this was the third of seven biweekly programs in the Garden Conservancy's Fall 2020 Literary Series with some of the most distinguished garden writers of the year.
