Susan Lowry was a television journalist in Canada and the United States before switching fields and earning a diploma in landscape architecture. She lives in New York City and works as a freelance landscape designer. She is also the co-author, with Nancy Berner, of Garden Guide: New York City (2002), Gardens of the Hudson Valley (2010), and Gardens of the Garden State (2014). Susan has lectured widely on public gardens and written for publications such as Garden Design magazine.
Susan joined the Garden Conservancy board of directors in 2008 and chairs the board's preservation committee. She also serves on the board of Greenwood Gardens, one of our preservation gardens, and is a member of the Open Days advisory committee.
