Garden Preservation Overview
Garden preservation lies at the core of the Garden Conservancy's mission to preserve America's exceptional gardens for the education and enjoyment of the public.
Since 1989, the Garden Conservancy has helped over 100 exceptional gardens across America survive and prosper. A select few become preservation projects of the Garden Conservancy, the signature program of our Preservation department. Designation as a Garden Conservancy preservation project entails a long-term collaboration and commitment on both sides.
In addition, the Garden Conservancy provides other forms of garden preservation services, including short-term consulting services, garden rescues, and a conservation easement program. And we offer a range of educational resources, including our own publications, such as a preservation handbook, and links to other related professional resources.
We also help connect like-minded institutions through organizations such as the Garden Conservancy Northwest Network.
We encourage you to explore this site for information on the many aspects of our garden preservation efforts.
