Widely considered one of the premier male figure skaters of all time, Dick Button dominated the world of figure skating for a seven-year period becoming the only skater to win all major competitions including two Olympic gold medals, five consecutive World Championships, seven U.S. National titles, and North American and European championships. He has been a broadcaster for the sport for more than fifty years and is considered “the voice of figure skating.” Mr. Button, the author of two books, has also written for magazines and other publications. He was the President of the Richmond Town Restoration. He is also a national spokesperson for the Brain Injury Association of America. He received degrees from Harvard University and Harvard Law School.

An enthusiast of horticulture, Mr. Button studied architecture, landscape design, and decorative arts at the Attingham Trust in the UK. A Garden Conservancy Fellow, and a garden host since the Garden Conservancy's Open Days program premiered in 1995, he will share images from his garden and show how his passions for figure skating and gardening are intertwined, revealing the totality of one’s experience.
