Peter Wirtz is a principal of renowned firm Wirtz International, which was founded by his father Jacques Wirtz in 1948, and has been run by Peter and his brother Martin for the past twenty years. The firm is recognized internationally for its consistent artistry and distinctive
vision.
The New York Times describes the Wirtz style as “incorporat[ing] the formalist traditions of classical Italian and French garden design with a sensibility that is both strongly architectural and startlingly idiosyncratic.” The firm has designed landscapes around the world including the Carrousel Gardens at the Louvre in Paris, London’s Jubilee Park, and the Antwerp Law Courts and has also created private gardens globally, including several throughout the U.S. in California, Florida, Idaho, Massachusetts, and New York.
