Bill Smiles is a Chappaqua resident, life-long orchid grower, and founder and past president of the Westchester Orchid Society. Orchids have been part of his life since he first encountered them while working in a floral shop at age 18. He has a degree in botany and is known for the draculas he grows, but is also fascinated with native orchids in the woodlands of Pennsylvania and the rain forests of South America. He is a neighbor of Rocky Hills and a member of the Friends of Rocky Hills.
