9:30 Workshop Opening and Introductions
9:45 Part I: John Buller of Loyalty Solutions Group will give a presentation on the benefits of using social media to enhance traditional media efforts. He will detail specific ways that organizations can communicate with constituents through social media and will discuss the different media technology platforms that organizations can use for outreach. John will share case studies of successful social media campaigns.
11:15 Break
11:30 Part II: In the second half of John Buller’s presentation, he will discuss how to develop a social media plan that is best for your organization and its goals.
1 p.m. Lunch and General Meeting
2:30 Group discussion on social media: should your organization embrace social media, what organizational requirements, policies and human resources must be in place, what are the social media roles of staff and volunteers, and how can an organization send a coherent message through the use of multiple media forms such as blogs, facebook, and twitter.

Workshop presenter information
John Buller has over 10 years of experience using social technologies to build communication and enhance traditional media efforts to position brands. Past experience includes working with the University of Washington's alumni association to transform the group's communications, building a media and outreach system to support the university's 2.7 billion capital campaign, and serving as the public relations consultant for the university's stadium renovation project, where he built broad-based support for a legislative funding request.
