Fellows Visit Twin Maples

On Saturday, August 11, 2012, members of the Garden Conservancy’s Society of Fellows enjoyed a special visit to Twin Maples, the estate of Douglas and Wilmer Thomas in Salisbury, Connecticut. The extraordinary landscape, which includes a spectacular forty-acre wildflower meadow, was honored by the Foundation for Landscape Studies with its 2011 Place Maker Award for “creating a landscape of extraordinary environmental sensitivity and beauty.”

Members of the Garden Conservancy’s Society of Fellows enjoy access to exceptional travel opportunities, including this recent private visit to Twin Maples, and to unique study programs. Membership also places donors at the heart of the Conservancy’s activities and family. In turn, the extraordinary engagement and support of our Fellows are critical to fulfilling our mission. Annual support from the Fellows program sustains the Garden Conservancy’s operations, educational programs, and preservation efforts throughout the country.
